Abortion Rights
Mary Auer opposes restrictions on legal abortion, including those that seek to outlaw all abortions under the guise of restricting seldom-used so-called "partial birth" abortions. Such laws are but a ploy to win broader restrictions on the right to choose.
Incumbent Sen. John Scott (Democrat) has a consistent anti-choice voting record. He even helped override Democrat Governor Mel Carnahan's veto of the Missouri "partial birth abortion" charade. Republican Leonard Arons has no record but has voiced anti-choice views similar to Sen. Scott. The Green Party's Mary Auer is the only pro-choice candidate in this contest.
