Favors increased funding for education at all levels, and opposes vouchers for private and parochial schools.
Favors a statewide Living Wage law like the one recently adopted by voters in the City of St. Louis.
Favors laws that protect workers' rights to organize and bargain collectively, including public employees.
Promotes economic and social justice: favors laws and tax policies which help those who are less fortunate and which spread the burden according to one's ability to pay, and which compensate for the disadvantages that attend being part of a disadvantaged majority, including affirmative action policies.
Favors laws that restrict the predatory lending practices of unscrupulous financiers and make the availability of credit fairer for those that need it; supports reinstatement and enforcement of Missouri usury laws, with both criminal penalties and civil remedies for violations.
Favors resubmission and ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment.
Opposes "corporate welfare," including tax-increment financing (TIF), which rob our financially strapped public school districts of needed revenue.
Opposes capital punishment and will work to abolish the death penalty in Missouri.
Endorses Ralph Nader for President of the United States.
